Objective: Dental bleaching offers a conservative, simplifi ed, and low cost approach to change the color of discolored teeth. The aim of this study is to present the restoration made with porcelain laminate veneers after vital bleaching.

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is an abnormal decrease of platelets of unknown etiologic causes. Clinical manifestations include muco-cutaneous bleeding (petechia, purpura, ecchymosis), epistaxis and/or GI bleeding. Diagnosis is made by exclusion of other causes e.g. lab error, drug or medication interaction or an infection. Prevention and control of bleeding is the most important action to do before treating the condition. This is done by transfusion of platelets. The treatment consists of steroid therapy, Anti-D immunoglobulin [1,2,3], Thrombopoietin receptor agonists or even splenectomy in some severe cases. We are presenting a case of severe ITP that was identifi ed in our dental clinic for an initial screening, our patient was admitted to the hospital and treated successfully with steroids, he presented with multiple oral and cutaneous lesions.

Solitary fi brous tumors (SFTs) were fi rstly reported in the pleura by Klemperer and Rabin [1], in 1931. These tumors are rare lesions and most commonly arise in the thoracic cavity [2]. Most of them occur as slow-growing painless masses. Rarely, larger tumors may be a source of paraneoplastic syndromes such as hypoglycemia owing to the production of insulinlike growth factor [3,4]. SFT is a mesenchymal neoplasm, previously nomenclatured as localized benign mesothelioma, submesothelioma, or localized fi brous tumor of the pleura [5]. It is now recognized that this may also occurs in extrapleural sites. Recently, however, SFT has been shown to originate from ubiquitous interstitial stem cells in various human tissues and its histopathological criteria have been established by the aid of immunohistochemistry [6]. SFTs arising in the soft tissue of the head and neck account for approximately 10% of all cases [7]. Those occurring in the oral cavity accounts for 3% of all head and neck cases [5]. In the present report we describe the occurrence of a SFT case in the angle region of the mandible. This is the fi rst case report of a SFT arising in the mandible.

Disc displacement without reduction (DDwoR), which is common among the temporomandibular disorders (TMD’s) may be diffi cult to deal with by the clinician. The term closed lock usually refers to the condition of DDwoR and manifest itself with painful limited mouth opening [1], and may sometimes be diffi cult to differentiate from other clinical entities such as spasm of the lateral pterygoid muscle or anchored disc phenomenon [2], It is generally considered that intervening in the early stages of the closed lock leads to a better prognosis. However, the term acute closed lock is still a matter of debate. Closed lock lasting less than one week is generally considered to be acute [3], but some researchers have extended this period up to 4 weeks [4]. Two thirds of the patients with closed lock tend to improve over time. However, this means that one third of them don’t or even worsen over time [2], therefore, that the clinician has to attempt to correct this disorder as soon as possible.

Transmigration, a phenomenon most often involving mandibular canine, refers to the migration of an unerupted tooth from its normal position to the contralateral side. Bilateral mandibular canine impaction with transmigration is a rare occurrence. These canines may exhibit kissing phenomenon in the radiograph. Very few cases of bilaterally impacted canines associated with dentigerous cyst have been reported. The case reported here deals with the management of kissing canines associated with dentigerous cyst.
